People’s park in the sky

People’s Park is situated at the highest point in Tagaytay providing breathtaking views of the whole city. It was intentionally constructed to be “a palace in the sky” to serve as guesthouse for former US president Ronald Reagan. However, the construction was never finished. Bulalo

Bulalo is one of the unmissable Philippines’ foods when visiting Tagaytay. It is traditional Filipino soup, which pre pared by cooking beef shanks and marrow bones until the fat dissolve into the broth, the adds corn, onions, or cabbages, resulting in savory and flavorful dish. Consequently, Bulalo is ubiquitous hot comfort food which best fit for Tagaytay’s cold weather.

Buko pie

Buko pie, created in 1965 by adapting US style pie with local available ingredients, is a traditional Filipino dessert which is thick custard pie made of fresh coconut juice and tender coconut meat. Buko pie is a very famous dessert because of its nice creamy and moderate sweet from the natural sweetness of buko (coconut, instead of cooking with white sugar)

Tocino is typically a sweet-cured meat (could be pork, beef, or chicken). Slices of meat are cooked with different combination of spices and seasonings, namely, sugar, salt, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, anise wine, and pineapple or orange juice. It is usually served for breakfast together with fried garlic rice and fried eggs which creating one of the most mouth-watering dishes in Tagaytay.

Since Tagaytay is just 60 kilometers far from Manila and it is well connected by road transportation system. It is recommended to use bus or van option to get there.

There are many buses available for your choices. Duration shall vary from 2-4 hours depending on bus operators. There are 3 bus operators in this route, which are Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), LRT Buendia station and Araneta Bus Terminal.

Tagaytay is more easily accessible by private vehicle as its distance is around 60 kilometers from Manila. Traveling time from Manila to Tagaytay is approximately 1-1.5 hour.
