  • Fort Santiago is the oldest Hispanic stone fortress in the Philippines.
    This citadel was built in 1593 as the fortress to protect new Spaniard

This famous Filipino street food has quail eggs in it and the brightly-colored orange that covers it is made of batter. The thick batter is made with flour, cornstarch, and water, with the addition of annatto powder, a unique ingredient which gives the dish its remarkable orange color. Hard-boiled quail eggs are thoroughly coated in batter, and fried until crispy. The essential condiment to kwek kwek is a spicy and sour sauce. The best choice would be vinegar with chili and garlic.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA also known as Manila International Airport or simply Manila Airport, is one of the two international airports serving the Metro Manila Area and the main international gateway to the Philippines. There are 20 international fights operating at NAIA. By ferry

Manila ferries connect Luzon Islands with other important islands, namely, Visayas Islands (Bohol, Cebu, Boracay), Mindanao Islands (Davao), Palawan and Puerto Princesa City.

2GO Travel is the largest ferry operator in the Philippines, based in the capital city of Manila, providing an extensive sailing network between some of the nation’s seven thousand islands. Here is the approximate sailings time and duration from Manila to other cities by 2GO travel’s ferry

Manila to Cebu, 2 sailings per week, duration 22 hours

Manila to Palawan, 1 sailing per week, duration 11 hours

Manila to Bohol, travelers have to go Cebu then connect local ferry to Bohol which takes around 4 hours. Total duration is 26 hours

Manila to Laoag, there is no sailing, travelers can choose Air or Bus option

Manila to Boracay, there is no direct sailing, travelers need to catch bus to Batangas port, then connect ferry to Caticlan jetty port, and then Caticlan jetty port to Boracay. Duration is approximately 10-12 hours.

Manila to Siargao, there is no direct sailing, travelers need ferry to Cebu, then take ferry from Cebu to Surigao city port and later on catch ferry from Surigao city to Siargao. Total duration is 35 hours; hence it is time consuming.

By car

This option is for destination that located in Luzon Island, which is the biggest island in Philippines. For example, it is amongst the good option driving a car from manila to Laoag which duration takes around 7.8- hours (500 kilometers)
